Arduino project and 0005K card

Hi,
I'm starting a personnal RFID arduino project.
I'm planning to learn reading some HID cards we have in the university.
Our cards are stamped with the reference 0005K, reference that i cannot find on the HID website and therefore I can't know if it's a 125 KHZ or 13.56MHZ card.
Second question, should I go for a HID reader (on ebay maybe) or the actual RFID arduino reader ?

If you just have something like '(C) HID 0005K' then it is a 125kHz card. If you have iCLASS in italics or embossed in the card then you have a 13.56MHz card.

BTW - IF it is 125kHz, this might be of interest to you: 125 kHz RFID reader based on ATtiny13

How does the readers in your university look like ?
If you can take a picture of a reader it will be easy to tell.

Are you sure it's 125 KHZ ?

125kHz HID MiniProx. Part number will be something like 5365EKP00
