Re: Store review - Elechouse

I bought 2pieces of their RDV1.0 when they first released it. Ref:  http://www.elechouse.com/elechouse/inde … ts_id=2261

Via Taobao within China,  the package it complete and the new antenna connections are great. I'm very pleased with this buy.
It was also the first Pm3 I bought that had a recent firmware on it.   Not that it matters to me, since I always upgrade it anyway but for newbies this might come in handy.

There is a upgraded package RDV2.0,   which has the bigger memory config.  from 256kb -512kb and they managed to make the antennas much better in strength.

If you want to be the topnotch rfid researcher or black hat hacker, go for this one.  The hardcore hardware ppl will solder their own pm3. smile

[hint]
The price on the homepage is higher then if you buy direct on taobao.

Bought some days ago their V2.0, it is rock solid and it arrived in very short time to europe, without any other fee. Very nice seller since he refunded me shipping cost because of his mistake in sending it to another person.

Re: Store review - Elechouse

There is a little defect, all LED (A,B,C,D) are RED. Led colours are useful for understand which is the PM3's state without read labels.
Sure now is easy read labels, but I prefer colours. Led blue for power state is good, but I prefer colours for led ABCD smile I hope in RDV3.0 there will be this change.

Re: Store review - Elechouse

I bought a kit last december (3 weeks to arrive  to Spain).

It was all perfect except I didn't receive the correct screws. I'm waiting for the screws but using the proxmark, of course.

It works great

Re: Store review - Elechouse

Hi fnord ... I do have the same set ... without the battery

the M1 card isin fact a uid-writable but did simply not answer to the 'halt' command ... it's a so called 'gen2'
but I have some magic cards that behave even different to that one maybe a gen2.5 lol - but that's another story.

the circumstance, that legic cards needs less distance to the antenna is more firmware-related that hardware-related ... the implementation of the legic functions need to be improved - hopefully you can fix that wink

cheers

Re: Store review - Elechouse

There is a seperate topic for HF antennas,   raise your question there and read ealier posts.

The M1 UID tag that I got, is a normal Magic Gen1 tag.

Reading distances for me using this kit is 2.5 cm for 14a tags,    legit needs less then 0.5cm,

USB battery pack should work,  just need the Y cable to connect both battery and pc.  Because once you turn off the power you loose all data on the device.

Re: Store review - Elechouse

I asked elechouse about it, and thats their simplified pm3 version for the domestic chinese market. In short,  weaker product but better price.

Got another answer:

The "elechouse easy" version doesn't have the following:
1. AT91SAM7S256 (smaller memory 256kb)
2. Removed lithium battery management and socket.
3. Removed some components such as Relay and the Amplifier
4. Use different antenna connection.

Re: Store review - Elechouse

Taking into consideration constantly growing firmware it's not the best option to have 256K memory. Why they switched to lower size I wonder?! neutral

Re: Store review - Elechouse

the beauty with the firmware is that you can exlude parts when compiling.  You don't need to have all functionality at the same time.  Like the standalone mode.

Anyway, I'm guessing here,  its a quite old ARM chip which is getting hard to buy nowdays and Elechouse went for a different model could be they managed to bulk buy it.

The current hardware requirements for a PM3 is getting a problem.  Its quite old.  Hence the PM4...

Re: Store review - Elechouse

I would rather expect a monolith all-in-one solution (without excluding modules) especially in such new convenient form-factor for some field researches which will obviously require all features ready to go. Therefore I was almost sure that they will use 512K.

So, currently, RDV 2.0 because of 512K is the best choice I suppose? What will be the deadline for the monolith firmware to fit 256K, how do you think?

Re: Store review - Elechouse

I think you are confusing things.  There is no deadline,  there is no goal.  The current pm3 master fits on a 256kb.

Re: Store review - Elechouse

Most probably!

But I'm a little bit worried about tomorrow, when we will have ~200kb (current iceman master) + EMV stuff for example.
Btw just checked, excluding standalone mode doesn't free much memory though.

Re: Store review - Elechouse

Gents,
Finally I've had a chance to take a look at Proxmark3 Easy and would like to share my personal opinion.

Device assembled well, easy designed. And seems that's the only advantage. Among disadvantages not only 256k memory size but also poor antenna performance (LF antenna is installed on the right side of the device):

# LF antenna: 30.25 V @ 125.00 kHz
# LF antenna: 30.52 V @ 134.00 kHz
# LF optimal: 36.30 V @ 129.03 kHz
# HF antenna: 28.61 V @ 13.56 MHz

Comparing to RDV 2.0

# LF antenna: 43.73 V @ 125.00 kHz
# LF antenna: 18.98 V @ 134.00 kHz
# LF optimal: 46.06 V @ 123.71 kHz
# HF antenna: 29.21 V @ 13.56 MHz

*** Just an update after 1 day usage.
PM button is very badly assembled (comparing to RDV 2.0) and I had to use soldering iron to fix this. Seems that PM3 Easy is really a low-cost product.

Wish to see the device that took all the benefits from Easy (form factor) and RDV 2.0 (512k, well assembled).

Re: Store review - Elechouse

Yesterday while I was looking on aliexpress for a TCXO, i have found the third version of proxmark3 produced by electhouse.
You can find it with "ELECHOUSE Proxmark3 Easy V3".
Electhouse's site has not it, so maybe it's a fake.
No big improvements now HF antenna is builtin on PCB and LF has not connector.
I don't like it, but if someone want try it the price is good less of 150USD.

Re: Store review - Elechouse

Already got a board with the first mod,
It makes HF tune showing 32mV to 36mV if setuped like proposed in manual, and I may say that this along with their HF external antenna of rdv2 is really impressive one.
However, new 1000mAh battery is to be made as far as possible of the HF antenna, as this battery is really strong on being interference cause if in same vertical as the communication.

LF modication of power is not needed if the LF antenna is place in the former situation, or if "fine tuning" is needay, anywhere neer the new 1000mAH E.H. Battery, making fun Free Voltage Tuner for the device.

Re: Store review - Elechouse

So its the battery which causes these problems with the pm3 rdv easy?

Re: Store review - Elechouse

The pm3 rdv "easy" is the Chinese marked centered low cost rdv2 with stripped down quality and no battery. So no, it's not that battery the problem, but I saw so much of these behing immediately thought as going to the back of the phone as final implementation that yes, this is sufficent to cause it to have nothing but problems,

But also I read here and there that the builtin hf antenna is not that good, with LF antenna being also a problem on this , having to be placed not like the setup of the marketed presentation at all.

If not clear, I was talking about the RDV2 proxmark,
- Most recent boards ALREADY have the pictured upgrade on components.
- Still the boards are RDV2 Design and no diffence is visible but maybe a better looking pcb quality finition, and the said changes
- New 1000mah in place of 600mAH battery is making some setups not behaving totally as expected, and it resuts in solution I found and described earlier : battery is to be avoid near antenna HF, but is benefic to LF Voltage Tuning, quite usefull in case of angry tags or non homogen tag size collection.

Once the HF external antenna of the RDV2 "last revision board" (so caming whith nothing to do) , setuping like the manual with HF being the only antenna on the side of the HAT LOGO, THEN it is perfect antenna. If need snooping, HF antenna should have a half-circle rotation, with always copper side going to "up", which mean "copper and battery are divorcing" scene , the mnemo I first think of to remember that battery has clear impact on all near verticual during communication.

Stilln you will not have better HF performance than when on the setup i described without snooping and a little 2 or 3mm of soft Kleened and a little Transparent adhesive added. wink

Hope it is clear in explanation now ? sad

Re: Store review - Elechouse

ELECHOUSE Proxmark3 RVD2 Boards were copied by RadioWar team in China. Their declare to be ELCHOUSE OEM factory, which is not true. Their boards look almost the same with ELECHOUSE's, including the logo "ELECHOUSE" printed on their boards. Their boards are sold on Taobao.com, Aliexpress.com, ebay.com, amazon.com by Chinese sellers.
More details to tell the fake boards:
FluxBB bbcode test
FluxBB bbcode test

Fake boards' problem:
1. Poor antenna performance. For example, fake boards' HF reading distance is only 3cm while genuine boards' is 6cm in the same condition.
2. Stability problem. Fake boards may suffer stability problem after some time. To cut cost, they adopt renewed/2nd-class components.
3. Performance conformity problem. If you buy 3pcs from them, the 3 might have different performance. This problem is caused by poor components and poor testing process.

Official authorized store:
1) Lab401.com
2) RfxSecure.com
3) Icesql.com
4) Rysc Corp
5) Hacker Warehouse
6) Elechouse.com

Anybody is welcomed to report stores which sell fake boards here.

Can anyone elaborate on why I might not want to buy from Rysc? I realize they are not selling the latest version but I like that they throw in a bunch of individual cards with the purchase -- these seem like they would be a pain to acquire individually.
